Your sponsor should work in a professional job at your school, college or university, for example, as a teacher, tutor, lecturer or disability officer.
Your sponsor CANNOT be a friend and CANNOT be related to you (e.g. brother, sister, mother, father, cousin, wife, husband etc).

12 Have you applied for Disabled Student Allowance this year? NoteDisabled Students' Allowances (DSA).
DSAs are grants to help toward meeting the additional studying costs or expenses that students face as a direct result of a disability or specific learning difficulty. Full-time, part-time and postgraduate students all qualify for help.
DSAs are paid on top of the standard student finance package and are not means-tested.
